Below are details of who contact and/visit should you require care outside of our practice hours.

The NHS Direct Help Line/NHS 111

Specially trained nurses who can give you immediate information and friendly helpful advice on what to do and what not to do staff this telephone help line. It is a 24-hour service and completely confidential. They also have information on local dentists and pharmacists. Phone 111 or use their online triage form via Get help for your symptoms – NHS 111 .

The NHS Walk-in Centre

The walk-in centre is based at Victoria Centre Hospital, Mill Lane, Wallasey. Simple dressing, minor ailments/injuries (e.g. coughs, colds, ear ache, hay fever, cystitis, sprains etc.), post coital contraception, women’s health problems and men’s health issues.  The opening times are Mon-Fri 07:00 – 22:00 and Sat-Sun 09:a00 – 22:00. No appointment is necessary.

There is also a walk-in centre at Arrowe Park Hospital and the Birkenhead Medical building.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath and/or severe abdominal pain constitute an emergency.
