Appointments
All doctors and nurses’ surgeries are held by appointment only which can be made by telephoning 0151 638 8221.
Patients can make both urgent on the day and routine appointments via the above method.
Urgent on the day appointments – The doctors will aim to contact/see you as close to the appointment time/timeframe as we can: however there can sometimes be appointment delays depending on availability of the on-call doctor. Please also be aware, as this is an urgent appointment and the doctors can and will only deal with your urgent on-the-day query. Anything additional will need to be arrange as a separate consultation
The reception team will ask as a few questions regarding your appointment so they can ensure they can direct you to the most appropriate person to deal with your issue.
With this system, we aim to ensure that all patients can access a primary health care professional within 48 hours of needing medical advice and a GP within 24 hours of requiring the services of a doctor as well as have planned visits to the doctor.
Telephone Consultations
All doctors and senior nurses do offer telephone consultations.
We are unable to give exact times slots for these appointments, it will be time frame of AM or PM call.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible for us to give the slot to someone else.
GP Extended Hours
You can now book appointments to see a GP in the evenings from 6.30pm – 8.00pm or on a Saturday. Please speak to reception to book these appointments. Please note this is not a drop-in service and availability may vary between sites.
For more information or to book an appointment, please contact the surgery on 0151 638 8221
Home Visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception as early on the day as possible.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. All requests for home visits with been triaged by a GP and a clinician will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details. Lack of transport or convenience is NOT a valid reason for requesting a home visit.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.
